The Hawassa Industrial Park occupies nearly 10% of the entire city. Geographically, the industrial park is isolated from the fabric of Hawassa’s streets by a highway and an airstrip. Architectures are abstract, rational forms of manufacturing buildings, replicated at regular intervals with incredible efficiency. Within this territory, a plot of residential land is set aside for the workers village which focuses on density and shared communal space realized in courtyards, program, and dwelling.
