GROUND NOTATIONS

Ground Notations is a public art installation located in Jackson, Mississippi. As part of The Fertile Ground Project supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, OJT along with artists, designers and food security advocates explore the misalignment between the prevalence of industrial farming in Mississippi’s landscape and the lack of food security for their very own citizens. The installation addresses the need for a shift in agricultural policies to create better food access for communities. It is strategically positioned between the state capitol and governor’s mansion, and built with Loblolly Pine, a locally sub-sized commodity crop.
